Overview
Twin canal tunnels on the Trent and Mersey Canal near Kidsgrove. James Brindleys original bore opened in 1777 and was legged through by boatmen lying on their backs. Thomas Telford added a wider parallel tunnel in 1827, which is still used today under a one way system.
