Hallandsas Tunnel is a rail tunnel in Sweden.
- Type: Rail
- Country: Sweden
- Length: 8.7 km
- Opened: 2015
Overview
Twin bore rail tunnel under the Hallandsas ridge on the West Coast line between Gothenburg and Malmo. Work began in 1992, drained aquifers, scandalized the project with a leaking chemical sealant, and finished 23 years later. A textbook case of hard rock, soft planning.
