Overview
Bypasses the steep Little and Big loops on the Baikal Amur Mainline in eastern Siberia. Work started in Soviet times and took decades, with floods and rockbursts slowing the drive. Opened in 2003, it shortened and eased the BAM crossing of the Severomuysky Range.
